Are you ready for Santa this year?

We hope everyone has a relaxing and joyful Thanksgiving with their families! Now the holiday is done, and we’re all eating turkey sandwiches for lunch for a week, it’s time to kick Christmas shopping into high gear!

In celebration of the start of the holidays, we went through and picked out five of our favorite holiday prints. These posters depict some of our favorite parts of the holiday season. They make great decorations and gifts for everyone on your list this season!

5. Jolly Snowman and Friends – Frosty is joined by all of his woodland pals in this adorable print by Donna Race. Squirrels, foxes, fawns and more all come together to celebrate the magic of Christmas.

4. Sugaring Off – A beautiful winter wonderland for your home! Even if you don’t have snow outside, you can have inside with this depiction of a small village in winter.

3. A Long Winter’s Nap – Santa is resting up for his long journey in this whimsical Dona Gelsinger print. This print brings a smile to every one’s face as they wait for Santa’s arrival on Christmas Eve.

2. Christmas Miracle – Celebrate the real reason for the season with this print. Family and friends will love this depiction of the miracle of Jesus’s birth at your next holiday gathering.

1. Windswept Goodbye – Even Santa has to deal with bad weather now and then! We adore this print of Santa waving goodbye as the reindeer take off in the middle of a snowstorm. It might be cold and snowy outside, but you’ll be warm and toasty inside with this magical scene!

Making A Print Into A Memorable Gift

Nov 20, 2009

1128251_3_presentsWe love Christmas, plain and simple. It’s so much fun to give and receive presents! One of the best feelings is when you find the most perfect gift for a person, and you get to see the look on their face when they open it! It’s even more fun when you do themed gifts and use something smaller, like a fun print or poster, as a hint of things to come. Not sure what we mean? Take a look at a few of our favorite gift ideas and you’ll see what we mean:

Going To The Movies

Any movie buff would appreciate this gift, and it’s pretty simple to put together. Pick one of their favorite movies and get a copy of that movie’s poster. Frame it and wrap it, then pair it up with any or all of the following: the dvd, soundtrack, or script of the movie. If there’s a novel that the movie was based on, that’s also a great gift to add. They’ll love having all the collectibles from their favorite movie at once!

At the Ballpark

Do you have a total sports nut in your life? If you’re looking for a gift for the baseball fan that has everything, try giving them a day at the park! Pick up a baseball poster, a pair of tickets for an upcoming game, and an old program. Frame them all, and then give it as one gift. When they open it and start checking out their new poster, let them look over the date on the tickets themselves. Of course, if they don’t notice then you’ll have to clue them in, but see if they can figure it out themselves first. :-)

Take a Trip

Were you planning to give a vacation as a present this year? It’s an amazing gift, but leaves you with very little to wrap. We carry posters from many popular places that you could give as clues to your final destination. Wrap up two or three posters of different spots in your vacation destination, starting with something less obvious (a popular park in France) to the dead give away (the Eiffel Tower) and make them guess!

Our Christmas Gift Giving Guide

Nov 13, 2009

1218486_gift_boxWith the holiday season upon us, it’s time to start putting together your gift list for all your friends and family. Before you go out and buy dad another tie, or plunk down money on expensive video games that the kids are going to forget in a month, why not think about getting them something that will last for years to come? Here are some of our favorite poster gifts, and some ideas on how to give them:

Posters For Her

There are so many excellent prints you can choose for every woman in your life. Next time you’re at her home, take a look around and get a feel for her style. Floral prints are a great choice because there are so many varieties – from ultra modern single bloom prints to classic country style. Pick a frame that matches their style and this gift will be a hit!

Posters For Him

Every man has his place that’s just his – The Man Cave. It might be the basement, or the den, or even out in the garage. Wherever it is, the perfect gift for him is a print that reflects his hobbies and interests. Frame a copy of a breathtaking aerial view of his team’s stadium, and all of the guys will be jealous next Sunday!

Posters For The Kids

Dressing up your kids rooms are a great present for Christmas. You have a couple of options here. First, if they’re sound sleepers, and if you’re pretty sneaky, you could go in during the night and hang up a poster or two. Just pop a bow on the frame and they’ll get the picture. You could also give them a late Christmas present. While they’re playing with their new toys, sneak into their rooms and do a mini makeover – hang prints and add a few cool new accessories like funky curtains and lamps. They’ll be blown away!

Festive Snowmen Posters

Festive Snowmen Posters

Now that Halloween has passed and the ghosts and goblins are getting packed away, it’s time to start planning for your Christmas decorations. Whether you’re a traditionalist who doesn’t put them up until after Thanksgiving or if you started putting them up once the kids went to bed on the 31st, you can add a festive splash to your home with some warm Christmas posters and prints.

Once you’ve got the tree up and the lights in the windows, it’s time to add some finishing touches to your home. Hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms can be a little harder to decorate without looking cheesy and over the top. Swap out the prints and photos you already have hanging up with some Christmas prints for easy as pie decorations!

Hallways: If you’ve got a larger wall to work with, it can be a challenge to fill. Rather than overloading with festive décor, pick one long print to fill the space. We love the Sleigh Bells Too Print for this purpose. At 37.5 inches long – it fills over three feet of wall space!

Bedrooms: Pick something warm and homey to adorn your bedroom walls. Skip the glitter and flash – you do need to sleep eventually! Whimsical snowman and Santa Claus posters work wonderfully in children’s rooms as well, like the Just The Right Bulb print by Peggy Adams.

Bathrooms: Finally, don’t forget to spread a little cheer to your bathroom as well! Most folks don’t clutter up their bathrooms with too much décor, which is why smaller prints work well. If you have a few framed prints already hanging in the bathroom, swap them out with some 5 x 7 Christmas prints, like our popular Christmas Mitts Print. It’s an understated way to bring some holiday magic to every room in your home!
